Board of Directors Meetings 09/28/01, 7:45 A.M. Board
members present were: Bill Charcut, Nick Moos, Doug Price, Rick Oddo,
Brent Blake, and Ralph Lewis. Also present were: Jim Beverlin and Sam
Alpert. (Jerry Miller,
Lee Harris, Ron Nolan, Ken Riedemann, Chris Erdley, and Ward Katz were
absent.) Doug
Price called the meeting to order. The minutes of the last meeting on 08/30/01, which had been previously circulated, were reviewed and approved by those present. The
August financial statement, which had been previously circulated, was
reviewed and approved by those present. Sam
Alpert presented the September Legislative Activity Report (see attached)
for review. Sam
Alpert led a discussion on the potential consequences to the industry of an
accelerated increase in insurance expense in the aftermath of the
September 11th terrorist
attacks. There will be added new emphasis on demonstrating best
practices at our properties, especially in areas of
health and safety. Doug
Price and Jim Beverlin reported that negotiations with the AAKC on merging
with the HAA were still in progress. A number of details with regard to
the administration of available funding
remain to be worked out. The
next regularly scheduled meeting of the HAA Board of Directors is to be
held on Thursday, October 25, 2001,

There
being no further business to come before the Board of Directors, the
