Board of Directors Meetings 6/21/01, 7:45 A.M.
Board members present were: Jerry Miller, Lee Harris, Doug Price, Bill Charcut, Nick Moos, and Ward Katz. Also present were: Jim Beverlin, Rick Oddo, Brent Blake, Kyle Scott, Peter Engelman, and Sam Alpert. (Chris Erdley, Greg Bates, Lenny Ozar, Ron Nolan, Ken Riedemann, and Nancy Smith were absent.) Jerry Miller called the meeting to order. The minutes of the last meeting on 05/31/01, which had been previously circulated, were reviewed and approved by those present. The May financial statement, which had been previously circulated, was reviewed and approved by those present. Sam Alpert reported that with approximately 9,000 units voting prior to the June 20 cut-off, the slate of HAA officers and directors as submitted had received approval of the general membership. The Board voted unanimously to ratify the election results and the newly elected slate of officers and directors (see election ballot) will begin their terms on July 1, 2001. Sam Alpert reported on the June legislative activity (see attached). In addition there was brief discussion on upcoming matters of concern to the industry including telecommunications forced access and utility sub-metering; both having the potential to resurface in Kansas in the near future. Jerry Miller and Doug Price led an in-depth discussion on HAA / AAKC merger negotiations. They reported that the proposed structure would provide for an autonomous (HAA) owners council, which would direct all legislative activity on behalf of the AAKC. Those in attendance agreed that there was sufficient merit in the proposed merger to pursue further negotiations with the AAKC to see where they might lead. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the HAA Board of Directors is to be held on Thursday, July 26, 2001, 7:45 A.M. at the offices of Midland Property Management, 2001 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Mission Hills, Kansas. There being no further business to come before the Board of Directors, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:30 a.m. | |
